Pricing¶
The Pricing screen sets what a kilo of cherry is worth for a season. CherryLedger supports the three rates a Kenyan coffee cooperative typically uses.
Permission required: PRICE_READ (view), PRICE_SET (change).

The three rates¶
| Rate | When it's used |
|---|---|
| Advance rate | Paid to the farmer soon after delivery, per kilo. |
| Final rate | The full price per kilo once the coffee is sold. |
| Bonus rate | Any additional per-kilo bonus the committee declares. |
Rates are set per season and per produce, so different grades can carry different prices.
Setting a price¶
- Choose the season and produce.
- Enter the advance rate (and bonus if declared).
- Save. Advances issued to members use this rate.
The final rate is usually set from Sales — when you apply the realised price, it writes the final rate automatically. You can also set it here manually if you price outside the sales flow.
Provisional vs realised
Until a final rate exists, member statements show a provisional value based on the advance/bonus. Once the final rate is set, statements become realised.
