Pricing

The Pricing screen sets what a kilo of cherry is worth for a season. CherryLedger supports the three rates a Kenyan coffee cooperative typically uses.

Permission required: PRICE_READ (view), PRICE_SET (change).

The pricing screen

The three rates

Rate When it's used
Advance rate Paid to the farmer soon after delivery, per kilo.
Final rate The full price per kilo once the coffee is sold.
Bonus rate Any additional per-kilo bonus the committee declares.

Rates are set per season and per produce, so different grades can carry different prices.

Setting a price

  1. Choose the season and produce.
  2. Enter the advance rate (and bonus if declared).
  3. Save. Advances issued to members use this rate.

The final rate is usually set from Sales — when you apply the realised price, it writes the final rate automatically. You can also set it here manually if you price outside the sales flow.

Provisional vs realised

Until a final rate exists, member statements show a provisional value based on the advance/bonus. Once the final rate is set, statements become realised.
