Glossary
- Active factory
- The factory a multi-factory user is currently operating on. Set with the header selector; scopes what
they see and do.
- Advance
- An early per-kilo payment to a member against their future payout, at the season's advance rate.
- Collection / delivery
- A single recorded intake of cherry from a member — the atomic unit CherryLedger is built around.
- Cooperative (society)
- The top of the hierarchy. Owns factories, members, seasons, prices and payouts. Data is isolated
between cooperatives.
- Deduction
- An amount owed back to the cooperative (inputs, loans, levies) subtracted from a member's payout.
- Factory (wet mill)
- A processing site under a cooperative where deliveries are weighed.
- Final rate
- The full price per kilo once coffee is sold — usually set by applying the realised price.
- Member
- A farmer registered under a factory. Can be given portal access.
- Net payable
- What a member is actually owed: priced deliveries minus advances and deductions.
- Payout run
- A season's calculation of what every member is owed, taken through compute → approve → disburse.
- Permission
- A single capability (e.g.
PRICE_SET). Roles bundle permissions.
- Provisional vs realised
- A statement is provisional until the final/realised price is applied, then realised (final).
- Realised rate per kilo
(gross sale proceeds − costs) ÷ delivered kilos, computed on the Sales screen.
- Reversal
- An append-only correction of a delivery — the original stays for audit.
- Role
- A named bundle of permissions assigned to users (e.g. Weighing Clerk).
- Season
- A year's grouping of deliveries, prices and payouts. One is marked current.
